Reviews are the cheapest user research there is. This page holds the public written reviews of any app, for one country’s store at a time.

  1. Choose an app and a country

Pick one of your saved apps or open Reviews from any app’s page, then press Show reviews.

The Reviews page with the app and country pickers and the review filters
  2. Filter

Narrow by stars, by app version or by a word. The rating summary describes the reviews we hold; it is not the store’s overall rating.

  3. Get the summary

Press Summarise these reviews. In about a minute you get what people complain about, what they praise and what they ask for.

  4. Compare competitors

Press Gap finder, tick two to five competing apps and press Find the gaps. You get the complaints and requests their reviews share, which is a ready list of what to do better.

Good to know

  • The App Store publishes at most 500 reviews per country; Google Play many more. We read as far back as the store allows and then keep everything, so the history grows over time.
  • For an app with a very large number of reviews, the summary reads an even sample across the whole history, and the card says how many it read.
  • The summary and the gap report are written by AI from real review text. They can miss things: open the reviews they point to before you act.
  • We never store reviewers’ names.

Plans: Indie includes 20 summaries and 5 gap reports a month; Studio 100 and 30.
