A keyword here is a search term in one store and one country, for example “habit tracker” on the App Store in the United States. We run that search every day and keep the top results.

  1. Add a keyword

On the Tracked tab, type the term, pick the store and country, and press Track keyword. The first result comes back at once.

The tracked keywords table with your rank, change, difficulty and the app in first place
  2. Read the table

“Your rank” is the best position of an app you saved (your own app first). “Change” compares with the check before. “Now #1” is who leads the search today.

  3. Open a keyword

You see the full ranking, new entrants, apps that dropped out and a history line for each app.

  4. Find more keywords

The Research tab reads your app’s own store page, shows what the store’s search box suggests, and lists words your competitors use that you do not. Each one has a button to start tracking it.

The Research tab with keyword chips taken from the listing, store suggestions and competitor words
  5. Watch the big picture

The Monitor tab shows how many of your keywords sit in the top 1, top 3, top 10 and so on over time, and a visibility score against one competitor.

What the columns mean

  • Difficulty is our own score from 0 to 100, based on how strong the apps in the top ten are. It needs a few results to work.
  • Store suggests it means the store’s own search box completes the term while you type. It is a sign that people search for it.
  • There is no search volume. Apple and Google do not publish one, so we do not show a number we cannot stand behind.

Plans: Free tracks 1 keyword, Indie 50 and Studio 500.
