Colonygrid: Plate QA

Colonygrid is a private plate-quality workbench for iPhone and iPad. It keeps the image, capture diagnostics, analysis settings, reviewer decisions, weighted APC math, and export integrity together in one local batch casebook. INSPECT THE SOURCE IMAGE - Import with Apple's system Photos picker or explicitly invoke the camera. - Review heuristic tonal, clipping, focus-detail, illumination, and plate-ROI diagnostics. - Use automatic Otsu or a documented manual threshold. - Tune polarity, circular ROI, morphology, area, shape, and edge controls. - See every retained region directly on the plate image. REVIEW WITHOUT ERASING HISTORY - Add a missed colony or exclude an automatic region without overwriting the automatic result. - Retain every analysis revision with its settings and capture report. - Classify a plate as exact count, no growth, TNTC, spreader, or laboratory accident. - Sign the exact revision, count, disposition, dilution, and plated volume reviewed. - Surface stale or missing reviews as explicit readiness blockers. METHOD-AWARE APC - Keep FDA BAM 2026, USDA/AOAC, and custom SOP ranges distinct. - Weight contributing plates by the original-homogenate volume received. - Round only the final report value to two significant digits using half-even handling. - Mark out-of-range exact counts as estimates instead of silently discarding them. - Block simple arithmetic for TNTC observations and route the analyst to the cited FDA maximum-likelihood calculator. PORTABLE EVIDENCE - Generate a batch PDF with plate-review pages. - Export plate summary, region measurement, and review-log CSV files. - Preserve a versioned project snapshot and machine-readable manifest as JSON. - Include annotated plate images plus SHA-256 and byte-count inventory for every payload. - Mark the package READY or DRAFT from the same visible readiness rules used in the app. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Projects and images remain in the app's local container. Imported images are re-rendered so embedded source metadata is not retained. There is no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, subscription, in-app purchase, developer-operated upload service, or remotely unlocked content. A clearly labeled synthetic training batch lets you examine the entire workflow without supplying an image. Colonygrid supports research, educational, environmental, and food-laboratory documentation. It does not identify organisms, diagnose conditions, validate a method, certify compliance, or replace a laboratory's SOP, quality system, analyst judgment, or release authority.
