Orivane Weave Drafts

Orivane is an offline handweaving draft editor for iPhone and iPad. Build a small shaft-loom draft, see its interlacements and take editable structure and indexed paper charts to your workbench. EDIT THE STRUCTURE Assign each warp end to a shaft, choose the raised shafts for each pick and color individual warp and weft threads. Start from plain weave, twill, point twill or basket presets. Reverse threading or picks, invert lifts and undo or redo edits. Use 2–8 shafts, 4–64 ends, 4–128 picks and up to 12 named RGB colors. CHECK THE CLOTH View front and back, one repeat or a repeated color preview. Review actual heddle counts. Scan both faces for warp and weft floats with a threshold of 2–16 threads. Repeat-edge checking joins floats across a repeat boundary and marks unbroken repeats. This is structural analysis, not a yarn-physics simulation or a guarantee that a draft suits your fabric. AT THE LOOM A manual next-pick view shows which shafts to raise and the weft yarn. Advance, go back or set a position. Each draft retains its own next pick and advanced count. No electronic loom control. KEEP WORK EDITABLE Create, name, resize, duplicate and delete up to 24 local drafts. Add notes and reopen saved work. Production starts empty; an explicitly chosen original indigo study is available. Import and export a full JSON backup, including any original WIF. WIF INPUT AND OUTPUT Import WIF1.1 up to 1 MB: single-shaft threading, liftplan or tieup plus treadling with up to 32 treadles, rising or sinking shed and RGB palettes of 2–12 colors. All structure must fit the app limits. Thickness, spacing, symbols, author/private fields and loom-specific metadata are not edited or copied into the new WIF; the unchanged original is retained. Export is a rising-shed shaft liftplan, not a treadle conversion. External weaving app or loom compatibility has not been verified. REAL FILES Generate a complete ZIP plus individually shareable WIF, restorable JSON, front/back PNG, a PDF with every indexed draft tile and threading/lifts, a crossing CSV and all threshold-4 finite/cyclic float locations.
