Kerfo: Bitmap Font Maker

Kerfo turns static fonts into bitmap font files on iPhone and iPad. Import TTF/OTF, choose glyphs and raster settings, inspect pixel metrics and export a transparent PNG atlas with an AngelCode BMFont text descriptor. One purchase. No subscription, account, ads, analytics or developer-server uploads. GLYPHS YOU CAN INSPECT Select a character from the glyph matrix. Inspect generated pixels, width, height, advance, X/Y offset and baseline. Choose 8–128 px, padding, tracking and smooth or hard edges. Missing source glyphs are listed and excluded from exports. The proof is rendered from generated glyph pixels and the same exported metrics. REAL REUSABLE WORK Save local font projects, rename or duplicate them, save named raster presets and restore them later. First launch is empty; the optional IBM Plex Mono example uses the SIL Open Font License. Its license accompanies the example exports. No font installation is needed. ACTUAL FILES Atlas.png, Font.fnt, Metrics.csv, Proof.png, Readme.txt and a complete Kerfo.json backup. Share through the system sheet or save to Files. PNG uses white RGBA glyphs on transparent pixels. FNT uses top-left coordinates, one page and the alpha channel. Keep FNT beside Atlas.png. JSON includes the source font and restores an independent copy of settings and saved presets. Export fonts and source backups only when their licenses permit. SUPPORTED SCOPE Single static outline TTF/OTF fonts up to 32 MiB, printable BMP scalar characters, 256 distinct glyphs, 4096 px maximum atlas, 20 projects, 32 presets per project, 400-character proof text. Backup imports up to 48 MiB. Proof images cap height at 8192 px and explicitly warn when clipped. No variable/color/SVG/bitmap fonts, font collections, WOFF, SDF/MSDF, kerning, ligatures, bidirectional or complex-script shaping. Combining characters are rasterized independently without positioning. Engine-specific compatibility is not certified. Preview atlas uses a dark background; exported background is transparent. This is a bitmap asset maker, not a font editor or system keyboard. Your files remain local unless you choose to share them. System device and iCloud backup settings may apply. Export backups before deleting projects or uninstalling.
