About
Slicevane turns a short audio break into a playable pad set and useful files for your next session. Bring your own sound; keep the cuts and their original timing together. CUT, THEN HEAR Import mono or stereo WAV, AIFF or M4A from Files. Start with amplitude-energy candidates or 2, 4, 8 or 16 equal slices. Candidate cuts are suggestions, not recognized beats or instruments. Tap a pad to select and audition its actual audio. Pads play one at a time. EDIT THE SOURCE RANGE Adjust contiguous source boundaries by exact frame number, nudge 1 or 48 frames, split at the waveform cursor or merge. Up to 16 slices, minimum 32 frames per slice. Name each slice, set gain −18 to +6 dB, edge fade 0–10 ms or reverse. Preview and exported WAVs share the same processing; each slice is attenuated if its peak exceeds −1 dBFS. Undo the last 20 edits. TAKE A DAW HANDOFF Build separate PCM16 WAV files at the decoded source rate/channel count, plus a standard MIDI format0 sequence with each slice triggered at its original source onset and duration. Set a manual 40–240 BPM tempo for MIDI ticks. Audio is not stretched and tempo is not detected. MIDI uses PPQ 960, channel 10 and notes 36 onward. Map those notes to the numbered WAV files in your own sampler; destination compatibility is not certified. KEEP THE ORIGINAL The ZIP contains all slice WAVs, the unchanged original source, Original-timing.mid, source-frame Cuts.csv, a source-backed restorable Project.json, an actual cut-proof PDF and Readme.txt. Share individual files or the complete package. Preview the actual PDF. Save up to 12 local projects; rename, duplicate, reopen or delete them. Import an exported project JSON to restore its source and controls. Save before replacing open work. BUILT FOR TOUCH A playable pad matrix and source waveform stay together on iPhone. iPad adds a broad matrix beside selected-slice details and supports landscape. Production begins empty. An optional original synthesized Bench break is created on device for trying the workflow. SUPPORTED INPUT 8–192kHz integer sample rate, mono or stereo, up to 20 seconds, 2million decoded frames and 32 MiB source. Compressed audio must decode on the device. Project JSON imports up to 46 MiB; retained sources have a 200 MiB library limit. Keep originals separately and use audio you have rights to process and share. No recording, AUv3, hardware MIDI, pitch/beat/key inference, time stretch, effects rack or automatic host mapping. This is a focused slicing and file handoff workshop. One upfront purchase. No subscription, IAP, account, ads, analytics, tracking, cloud sync or developer upload. Files stay on the device unless you share them.Read more
