About
Tesskey maps your audio clips into portable SFZ instrument kits. BUILD A KEY MAP Import up to 16 mono or stereo clips from Files. Set each sample’s root MIDI note and note/velocity range. Spread distinct roots automatically within each velocity band, then inspect the mapping over a keyboard. Numeric MIDI notes avoid octave-name ambiguity; Tesskey labels MIDI 60 as C4. Filename note suggestions can be changed manually. No automatic pitch detection. PREPARE THE SAMPLES Trim start and end times, apply short fades and optionally normalize peak level to −1 dBFS. Listen to each processed source at its original pitch. Preserve the source sample rate and channel count in exported 16-bit PCM WAV files. EXPORT A REAL INSTRUMENT KIT Create a ZIP containing instrument.sfz, the processed Samples folder, Mapping.csv, Settings.json and Readme.txt. Relative sample paths stay together. Inspect the actual SFZ text and file list before sharing through iOS. Transfer the package to a compatible SFZ sampler; Tesskey itself is not a sampler plugin or transposed keyboard player. CHECK AND SAVE Find invalid ranges and overlapping note/velocity zones before export. Intentional layering has an explicit setting. Coverage gaps are reported rather than filled silently. Save, reopen, rename, duplicate and delete local kits, with source audio and notes. One upfront purchase. No subscription, ads, account, analytics, tracking or developer-server processing. The library starts empty; an optional synthetic pluck example is clearly labeled. Works on iPhone and iPad, with a wider mapping workspace on iPad. Supports mono/stereo audio iOS can decode, from 0.05 to 30 seconds, 8–192 kHz, up to 64 MB and two million decoded channel samples per source. Maximum 16 samples per kit and 64 MB per exported ZIP. SFZ includes basic key, root, velocity and playback-mode instructions; no loop-point editing, effects, AUv3, recording, pitch detection or SF2/NKI import. Host support can vary. Settings.json records edits and mapping; the exported WAVs contain processed audio, not an original-source backup. Keep separate copies of source files and exports before deleting a kit or uninstalling.Read more

BUILD A KEY MAP
Import up to 16 mono or stereo clips from Files. Set each sample’s root MIDI note and note/velocity range. Spread distinct roots automatically within each velocity band, then inspect the mapping over a keyboard. Numeric MIDI notes avoid octave-name ambiguity; Tesskey labels MIDI 60 as C4. PREPARE THE SAMPLES
Trim start and end times, apply short fades and optionally normalize peak level to −1 dBFS. Listen to each processed source at its original pitch. Preserve the source sample rate and channel count in exported 16-bit PCM WAV files.
EXPORT A REAL INSTRUMENT KIT
Create a ZIP containing instrument.sfz, the processed Samples folder, Mapping.csv, Settings.json and Readme.txt. Relative sample paths stay together. Inspect the actual SFZ text and file list before sharing through iOS. Transfer the package to a compatible SFZ sampler; Tesskey itself is not a sampler plugin or transposed keyboard player.
CHECK AND SAVE
Find invalid ranges and overlapping note/velocity zones before export.
