About

Practice penmanship, one stroke at a time. NeoShoDo teaches handwriting the way it is actually taught: one stroke at a time, in the right order, in the right direction. Watch the letter drawn for you, trace it on ruled paper, then prove it five times in a row before it counts as learned. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Every letter is an authored pen path, not a font. That means the guide you trace, the animated demo, and the scoring all come from the same stroke data — so the path you follow is exactly where a pen should go, and the app can tell the difference between the right shape drawn the wrong way and the right shape drawn properly. Scoring looks at three things: how closely your line follows the guide, whether each stroke went in the correct direction, and whether you covered the whole stroke instead of a convincing fragment. Getting it right once can be luck. The five-in-a-row drill is the part that means you learned it. WHAT YOU GET FREE • Print letters — A-Z, a-z and 0-9, single-story a and g, the way they are written by hand rather than the way they are typeset • Cursive — a pre-cursive alphabet with joining strokes, not looped copperplate • Words and Sentences — free tracing over ruled paper, with real quotes • Six ruled-paper styles, a left-handed mode, light and dark themes • A full drawing kit: pen, pencil, crayon, calligraphy nibs and an eraser SCRIPT PACKS (optional one-time purchases) • Japanese — hiragana and katakana, stroke by stroke, on a square guide grid • Chinese — hanzi with real stroke order • Korean — hangul jamo • Cyrillic — Russian print letters • Arabic — the 28 letters, written right to left Each pack brings its own words and sentences, not translated English ones. Choosing a script changes the whole app: the characters you practise, the word list, the quotes, and whether vertical writing is available. Japanese and Chinese sentences can be written vertically, in right-to-left columns on genko yoshi cells. Every script follows its own rules rather than Latin's. Arabic runs right to left on plain ruled paper. Japanese and Chinese trace character by character; Korean, Russian and Arabic trace whole words, because splitting Arabic per letter would destroy the joining and teach a spelling that does not exist. ONE ACCOUNT, EVERY DEVICE Sign in and your progress follows you. Anything you buy is tied to your account, so a pack bought here also unlocks on the web at neoshodo.spaikz.com and in the iPhone and iPad app. A NOTE ON STYLUS A stylus is not required — a finger works. If your device has one, the app will mention it once and then never again. No ads. No subscription. Purchases are one-time.Read more
