About
Walk the roof once. Leave with the number. ArraySurvey is a solar site-survey app built for the technician standing at the house. One job is one house, and across the top of it runs a rail of seven stops — Site, Roof, Shade, Layout, Electrical, Production, Proposal — in the order you walk the property. Each stop feeds the next, so by the last one the proposal is already priced. SITE • Customer, address, and who walked it. • Tap "Use my location" and your latitude sets peak sun-hours, the best tilt, and the winter noon sun angle. • Enter the electric bill — monthly amount, rate, kWh — and the app knows the yearly usage the design has to beat. ROOF • One card per roof plane, or a ground mount or carport. • A roof canvas on a one-foot grid, ridge at the top. Type the eave width and eave-to-ridge depth and the plane draws itself. • Drag the corners to cut hips and notches. Add a corner where the roof line turns; reset to get the plain rectangle back. • Hold the phone square to the eave and the Compass button reads the plane's facing. Lay the phone on the shingles and the Level button reads the tilt. • Pick the roof material. SHADE • Tap the roof to drop a vent, chimney, skylight, HVAC unit, tree, or dormer. • Each one casts its winter-noon shadow band across the plane, drawn toward north from its height and your sun angle. • Drag to move it, tap to change its size. Shade loss and usable area update live as a percent. LAYOUT • Choose the panel from the catalog, portrait or landscape. • Set the fire setbacks — 18 inches at the edges and 36 below the ridge by default. • The plane tiles itself with modules, skipping every cut in the outline and every keep-out around an obstruction. • Tap a module to skip it; tap again to bring it back. Module count and kW show per plane and for the whole job. ELECTRICAL • Inverter type and model — string, microinverters, or hybrid — plus optimizers, battery and unit count, racking, DC and AC disconnects, and a production meter. • A string plan for every plane from the NEC 690.7 cold-day and hot-day temperature math: the fewest and most modules a string can carry on that inverter. • The service panel: bus rating, main breaker, open spaces, meter location, and a photo of the panel label. • The 120% rule (NEC 705.12) checked against the PV breaker the design needs — and when it fails, the fixes: derate the main, a supply-side tap, or a bigger bus. PRODUCTION • Kilowatt-hours per year, with a 12-month bar chart underneath. • A per-plane breakdown showing each face's orientation factor and shade loss. • Production against the bill, the yearly savings, and the payback in years, with a derate slider for a conservative estimate. PROPOSAL • Equipment at catalog price, labor by the watt, permits, your margin, the federal tax credit, net to the customer, and the price per watt. • A plain-English review list with NEC references — good, look again, or fix before permit. • A proposal PDF on your letterhead: three headline numbers, each roof plane drawn with its modules, the month chart, the price table, and the review list. • Mark it sent, mark it won, and send the awarded job to ProjectLead as one file — roof planes become plan images and strings become line items. SUN TOOLS Four standalone calculators for when you only need a number: a string sizer, a 120% rule check, sun-hours by latitude, and winter shadow length. ON YOUR PHONE, AND ONLY THERE Photos tagged to a plane, job notes, and a one-file backup of the whole job. No account, no sign-in, no server — the job stays on the device you surveyed with. THE PLAN Three jobs are free forever, and a job you already made never locks. ArraySurvey Pro, monthly or annual, opens unlimited jobs. A Low Volt Labs suite plan opens this app and the rest of the family. Built for the residential solar installer who does the survey, the design, and the sale in a single visit.
