About

Priv8Scout turns your iPhone into a network field scout. See what's on your Wi-Fi, find out why something's slow, scan a room in 3D, and do it all without handing your data to anyone. SEE YOUR NETWORK • Connection Info — IPv4 and IPv6, subnet, gateway, DNS, interface, SSID, BSSID, public IP, ISP and ASN • Scan Network — finds devices on your LAN using Bonjour, TCP sweep and ICMP, so it still works when devices refuse to answer a ping • Port scanning with Quick, Standard, Thorough and Custom profiles • Service detection that identifies SSH, RDP, HTTP, SMB and more on whatever port they're actually running on, not just the standard one • Scan history with side-by-side diffs — see exactly what changed between visits MAP A SPACE • Site Survey — build a floor plan from a photo, a PDF, or a sketch, then calibrate the scale • LiDAR room scanning on supported Pro iPhone models — walls, doors and windows arrive as editable vector objects, scale exact by construction, with the 3D model kept • Place and label access point markers while you're standing in front of them • Edit walls, furniture and AP positions as vector objects MEASURE AND DIAGNOSE • Speed Test — throughput, latency, gateway ping, and DNS timing • Signal Quality — a live relative Wi-Fi signal quality reading for finding dead spots. Sorry no signal strength on iOS. • Ping, Traceroute, DNS Lookup, WHOIS, TLS/SSL Inspector, HTTP Client, Telnet/Raw TCP, Subnet Calculator, MAC Vendor Lookup • CSV and JSON export PRIVACY, NOT AS A FEATURE BULLET No accounts. No analytics. No telemetry. No ads. No third-party SDKs that phone home. We don't operate servers that see your data, because we don't operate servers. Everything stays on your device. iCloud sync is opt-in and uses your own private iCloud database — Apple's encryption, not ours, and not visible to us. The only automatic outbound request the app makes is a public-IP lookup so it can show your WAN address and ISP. Everything else happens only when you start it. HONEST ABOUT WHAT iOS CAN'T DO Apple doesn't allow apps to scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks, read the ARP table, or use raw sockets. Any iPhone app claiming otherwise is guessing. Signal readings here are a relative quality measure, not dBm — true dBm needs hardware access iOS doesn't grant. Where a number is approximate, we say so. WORKS WITH PRIV8SCOUT FOR MAC The iPhone is the scout; the Mac is the workbench. Capture floor plans and LiDAR room scans in the field here, then move to Priv8Scout for Mac for nearby-network scanning, true dBm survey sampling, heat map rendering, and client-ready reports. Speed Test — fixed and more honest • Download speeds are now accurate. On fast connections the test was reporting a fraction of your real speed. • Works on cellular. The test could fail on 5G with no explanation — it now runs, and if something does go wrong it tells you why. • Knows when the test server, not your network, is the limit — and says so, so a low number means what it says. • Server and Public IP details are back on the results screen. • Signal Quality's stress test now genuinely loads fast connections, so a weak spot can't hide behind an easy test.
