About
Ten kilometres of Calgary's downtown is one floor up, enclosed and heated, and most people who work there could not draw it. Dayshift is the map. WHAT IT DOES The whole network, drawn All 231 corridors — 101 bridges and 130 interior stretches — over the downtown street grid. Tap one to set your start, tap another for where you are going. Walking routes that stay inside Numbered steps in plain words: cross the enclosed bridge, continue through the building. With the distance, the minutes, and how many metres are open to the sky. When the quickest way is not the driest one, Dayshift offers the fully enclosed alternative and tells you what it costs in metres. What is open, not just what exists Explore answers the question you have at that hour: coffee before nine, lunch at noon, somewhere to sit at three — ranked by the walk, filtered by the hours. The Inside Walk 360° photographs you step through, so you can see a corridor before you commit to it. Eight corridors are captured so far, with more being added. Meet me Send a link that says where to meet. The person opens it in a browser with no app and no account, and sees the place, whether it is open, and the walk to it. WHY IT IS DIFFERENT No signal needed. The map, the routing and the steps live on your phone rather than on a server, which is the difference between working and not working in the middle of a bridge. Honest about its gaps. A day nobody wrote down is shown as unrecorded, never as closed. Where the City's data does not join two stretches, Dayshift says so and shows you the single crossing outside instead of inventing an indoor one. Free, and the map needs no account. An account is free too; it only adds notifications and a Meet-me pin you can withdraw. No advertising and no tracking. No advertising software, no crash reporter. Usage measurement stays off until you switch it on. Your location is not sent to us unless you deliberately share a live pin. WHAT IT IS NOT No turn-by-turn voice guidance and no blue dot: GPS is unreliable inside a concrete bridge, so Dayshift narrows it down and you confirm with one tap. No step-free routing yet. No corridor has been surveyed for it, and a route nobody has checked is not one this app will promise. Built in Calgary by two people who walk this network every day.Read more

WHAT IT DOES
The whole network, drawn
All 231 corridors — 101 bridges and 130 interior stretches — over the downtown street grid. Tap one to set your start, tap another for where you are going.
Walking routes that stay inside
Numbered steps in plain words: cross the enclosed bridge, continue through the building. With the distance, the minutes, and how many metres are open to the sky. When the quickest way is not the driest one, Dayshift offers the fully enclosed alternative and tells you what it costs in metres.
What is open, not just what exists
Explore answers the question you have at that hour: coffee before nine, lunch at noon, somewhere to sit at three — ranked by the walk, filtered by the hours.
The Inside Walk
360° photographs you step through, so you can see a corridor before you commit to it. Eight corridors are captured so far, with more being added.
Meet me
Send a link that says where to meet. The person opens it in a browser with no app and no account, and sees the place, whether it is open, and the walk to it.
