About

It's nine at night. The kettle and the well pump kick in together, the lights flicker, and you start wondering whether the battery will last until morning. Copper Dusk sizes the power system for a house that isn't connected to anything. Tell it what you plug in, where the house stands and when you live there, and it works out the battery, the inverter, the solar array and the generator — then shows you, hour by hour, whether the lights stay on. Start with your appliances. Pick a fridge, a pump or a kettle from the catalog, or add your own, then run a finger along a 24-hour ribbon to paint the hours each one runs. Every appliance gets its own breaker: flip it down and watch the whole system shrink. It's the quickest way to find out what that water heater really costs you. Then the sun. Choose your city or type in your latitude, pick a climate, and see what your roof makes in every month next to what the house uses. Slide across the months and let go on the one you want the panels to cover — the array resizes on the spot. Have measured sunshine data for your site? Type it in month by month. The best part is the day itself. Drag the sun across the sky and watch the battery fill at noon and drain through the evening, see which appliances are running at that hour, and feel the moment the generator starts up on a short December afternoon. A page of numbers turns into an evening you can picture. Every size comes with the reasoning behind it: why the battery is this big, which two appliances set the inverter's peak, how long the generator runs each month and how much fuel it burns in a year. Wiring is covered too. Pick a run — battery to inverter, panels to controller, inverter to the house panel — and drag the plug to set its length. The cable thickens to the right cross-section, with a matching breaker and the voltage drop kept in check. Torn between lithium and lead-acid, more panels or a bigger generator? Save each option as a build. Copper Dusk prices them with your own quotes and lines them up by what you pay today and what you'll have spent ten years from now, replacement batteries and fuel included. A build that would leave you in the dark is flagged and never ranked cheapest. Made for weekend cottages, year-round houses and remote cabins — for owners pricing a system before they call an installer, installers sketching a quote at the kitchen table, and anyone who simply wants the lights on tonight. Plan the power first. Then build it.Read more
