About
Grip your iPhone like the hilt of a katana and draw it from your hip in one motion. Sayabashiri ("the blade leaving the scabbard") is an iai sword-drawing game that measures your slash with the iPhone's motion sensors and scores it. HOW TO PLAY 1. Tap "Start" 2. During the 5-4-3-2 countdown, hold the phone like a sword hilt at your left hip 3. Hold still on 1 4. When the phone vibrates and "Draw!" appears, draw, slash and stop Draw before the signal and it is a false start. Patience is part of iai. SCORED OUT OF 100 - Edge alignment (40): does the blade's axis stay true while you swing? - Speed (30): how sharp is the draw? (capped, so swinging harder does not help) - Stop (20): does the blade stop cleanly at the end? - Arc (10): is the rotation the size of a real drawing cut? Reach the pass mark and the target is cut along the angle of your slash. Fall short and the blade stops halfway. THREE TARGETS - Straw mat / makiwara (pass: 60) - Bamboo (pass: 75) - Armor and helmet (pass: 90) Straw mat and bamboo can be challenged any number of times. For the armor, watch an ad to get 3 attempts, or unlock it with an in-app purchase that also removes all ads. PLAY SAFELY - Grip the phone firmly and use a wrist strap if you have one - Make sure no people, objects or walls are nearby before you swing - You do not need to swing with full force. Edge alignment and the stop are the keys to a high score OTHER - No account required - Motion data is processed on your device and never sent anywhere - Purchases can be restored on another device with "Restore purchase" Contact: chimasaki31@gmail.comRead more
