About
Most habit apps give you a streak. A streak tells you whether you showed up, not whether you are in good shape, and it resets the moment you have a bad Tuesday. Flint & Kiln gives you one number between 0 and 100, built from eight parts of your life at once. It goes down when you stop feeding it. EIGHT AREAS, EQUAL WEIGHT Movement. Recovery. Nutrition. Strength. Focus. Structure. Consistency. Social. Nothing is worth more than anything else, so there is no gaming which areas the app values. They are combined weakest-first: seven areas at 90 with one at 5 scores 67, not 90. The fastest way up is always your lowest area. IT FALLS Every area drains when nothing comes in, all the way to zero, and every point lost is itemised with the reason attached. Recovery empties in nine days, Movement in twelve, Consistency in forty. Each area is also capped on how much it can climb in a day, so one perfect day cannot buy back a lost fortnight. REST COUNTS Recovery is scored on whether you got enough, not on how much. Twelve hours in bed scores worse than eight, and a genuine rest day raises your score. YOU NEVER TYPE ANYTHING IN It reads what your iPhone and Apple Watch already record: sleep, HRV, workouts, activity, VO2 max, daylight, and whatever your food app writes to Health. MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, Lose It, Apple's own food logging, Whoop, and Oura all work. IT CHECKS Your calendar says 09:00 deep work. Your Watch says 2,400 steps and a heart rate like a commute. Flint & Kiln compares the two, decides whether the block happened, and shows you which reading made it think so. Where it cannot tell, it leaves the block out of your score rather than guessing. APPLE INTELLIGENCE READS, THE RULES SCORE On a device with Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device model reads your calendar like a person would: "Lunch with Sam re: budget" reads as a meeting, and "Long run" reads as training. It files your goals, explains your week, and answers questions about your own numbers in Ask. It never sets the score. Every point comes from published rules you can read in the app. A CALENDAR THAT PLANS THE WEEK Optional, and off until you switch it on. It learns when you wake, the hour you train, and which days you actually turn up, works out what the week needs, and fits all of it into the gaps you have. Then, if you want, it fills the rest: a night of sleep for every night, a wind-down, meals, and something worth doing in every open hour, weighted toward your weakest area. Change your calendar, and it plans the week again. Nothing is added to your own calendar until you accept it, and nothing it suggests counts toward your score until you do. OTHER PEOPLE Two things are asked of a week: one productive social hour, and one purely for the company. Each a real hour. Around them: time with anybody, how many different people, and your longest stretch alone. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR DEVICE No account. No sign-in. No server. No analytics. No ads. Health access is read-only. Apple Intelligence runs on the device, and nothing you schedule or type is sent anywhere. Delete All My Data in Settings erases everything in one tap. MAKE IT YOURS Onyx and Chrome, or any colour you choose, carried through the app, the widgets and the watch. Ten levels, from Ash to Solar, each with its own shade. Also: Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy widgets, including Up Next, an Apple Watch app and complications, a Live Activity, Siri and Shortcuts, a full iPad layout, a double-entry ledger of every point, seasonal chapters, and a Sunday report on the week ahead. $4.99 a month, everything included. Cancel any time from Settings in the app. Requires iOS 27. An Apple Watch gives it the most to work with. Ask, and the model features need a device that supports Apple Intelligence; everything else works without it. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/Read more
Most habit apps give you a streak. A streak tells you whether you showed up, not whether you are in good shape, and it resets the moment you have a bad Tuesday.
Flint & Kiln gives you one number between 0 and 100, built from eight parts of your life at once. It goes down when you stop feeding it.
EIGHT AREAS, EQUAL WEIGHT
Movement. Recovery. Nutrition. Strength. Focus. Structure. Consistency. Social.
Nothing is worth more than anything else, so there is no gaming which areas the app values. They are combined weakest-first: seven areas at 90 with one at 5 scores 67, not 90. The fastest way up is always your lowest area.
IT FALLS
Every area drains when nothing comes in, all the way to zero, and every point lost is itemised with the reason attached. Recovery empties in nine days, Movement in twelve, Consistency in forty. Each area is also capped on how much it can climb in a day, so one perfect day cannot buy back a lost fortnight.
REST COUNTS
Recovery is scored on whether you got enough, not on how much. Twelve hours in bed scores worse than eight, and a genuine rest day raises your score.
YOU NEVER TYPE ANYTHING IN
It reads what your iPhone and Apple Watch already record: sleep, HRV, workouts, activity, VO2 max, daylight, and whatever your food app writes to Health. MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, Lose It, Apple's own food logging, Whoop, and Oura all work.
IT CHECKS
Your calendar says 09:00 deep work. Your Watch says 2,400 steps and a heart rate like a commute. Flint & Kiln compares the two, decides whether the block happened, and shows you which reading made it think so. Where it cannot tell, it leaves the block out of your score rather than guessing.

Change your calendar, and it plans the week again.
