Room Service for Sonos

Type it. Every room hears it. Room Service turns what you type on your iPhone into a spoken announcement on your Sonos speakers. Call everyone to dinner, tell the kids it's lights out in ten minutes, or let the garden know you're leaving. No more shouting up the stairs. YOUR MUSIC KEEPS PLAYING On current speakers, Room Service plays your announcement on top of whatever is playing. The music gets quieter while it speaks, then carries on. On older models, it pauses what's playing, speaks, and resumes it afterwards. HOW IT WORKS 1. Write your message. 2. Pick a room, or a group of rooms. 3. Tap Send Message. Room Service finds your speakers on your Wi-Fi by itself. There's nothing to set up. FEATURES • Any room or group: send to a single room or to rooms that are grouped together. • Natural voices: add your own OpenAI API key for lifelike voices, and give them instructions like "speak cheerfully". • Built-in voices: without a key, Room Service uses the voices already on your iPhone. They switch automatically to the language you write in. • Announcement volume: set how loud the message is without touching the volume of your music. • Speaking speed: slow it down for clarity or speed it up for quick reminders. • Message history: resend a past message with one tap. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no ads, no tracking. • Audio goes straight from your iPhone to your speakers over your own Wi-Fi. • Your message history stays on your iPhone. • Your OpenAI API key is stored in the iPhone's Keychain. Message text is only sent to OpenAI if you choose to use an OpenAI voice. GOOD TO KNOW • Your iPhone and speakers need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. • Room Service asks for local network access so it can find your speakers. • OpenAI voices are optional.
