Mixtake Stage

Mixtake Stage is an app for recording the front-of-house sound: it takes the clean feed from the mixing desk and sends it to the Mixtake cloud so that people in the audience can add it to the videos they filmed at the event — at a concert, a conference, in a theatre or at a wedding. How it works: connect a USB audio interface carrying the stereo output of the mixing desk to your iPhone, pick the tracks and press record. With a four-channel interface the app records a pair of ambient microphones alongside the L/R master, so the audience gets the room atmosphere with the clean sound. Without an interface the app records in stereo straight from the iPhone microphones. The audio is stored on the phone as it comes in and uploaded to the cloud in segments. If the network drops, nothing is lost — it is sent as soon as the connection is back.
