NebuSpot

NebuSpot reads NebuSpot tags, the printed marks venues place on signs, doors and counters, and says out loud what each one is. Hold your phone up and sweep slowly across the wall. When a tag comes into view, NebuSpot tells you what it marks, for example "Lift, ground floor, next to the stairs", and how far away it is. It is built for blind and low-vision people, and for anyone finding their way around a building they do not know. What NebuSpot does • Reads tags from across a room. A large tag reads from several metres away, a small one from about an arm's length. • Speaks in English, Hindi or Marathi, with the voices on your iPhone. • Works with VoiceOver, and on its own with sound and optional vibration. • A soft tone while it is looking, a tick when something tag-shaped is in view, and a chime when a tag has been read. • Find a tag: search by voice or text for the sign you need. • Recents: the signs you have passed, kept only on your phone. • High-contrast reader colours and larger text. • Power saving pauses the camera after five minutes with no tag found. Private by design Camera images never leave your phone. NebuSpot needs no account and no sign-in, asks for no location, shows no ads and does not sell your data. Your reading history is encrypted on your iPhone. Please note NebuSpot reads NebuSpot tags only. It is not an obstacle detector and does not warn you about steps, kerbs, vehicles or other hazards, so keep using your cane, guide dog or other mobility aid. It can miss a tag or read it late. Tag names are downloaded the first time the app is online; after that, reading works offline.
