About
GEL is a color tool for people who run lights for a living. One thumb, in the dark, twenty seconds between songs. It does not replace your console. It remembers what you have already played, tells you what you have not spent yet, and reads any color you point it at. Free. No account, no subscription, no ads, no analytics. Nothing leaves your phone. THE SET Tap once per color change and the whole night builds itself. • NOW — the color that is up, and how long it has been held • BANKED or SPENT — whether the punch is still in your pocket • THE NIGHT — every color played, to scale, tap to see when • Quiet one-line reminders: too long in one tone, a repeat too soon, a hold running long, white going from hit to habit. Each one adjustable, each one switchable off. Optional buzz or ping. • Blackout is a color, not a gap. White logs as a hit. UV works as a floor or as a color. • Undo. Auto-ends after ninety minutes idle. Every set kept, on the phone. • Your boards — save one per venue or per rig. Your colors, your names, your order, your grid. • Slide a thumb across the board and feel each color family by haptics, so it can be found without looking. Lift to log. • Not working tonight? Watch a two-hour set play back at forty times speed. BOOTH MODE Hold any tab. Deep red interface for night vision, with the color swatches left true. Screen brightness that goes below the iOS minimum. No auto-lock. Bigger targets for a hand that is busy. READ — the camera eyedropper Point it at the stage. • Live read at the centre, or the whole frame broken down by color family • Freeze and tap any spot. Pinch to zoom, pixel loupe for the exact one. • Works on a photo too • Shows the family, the hex, its PUNCH and its BLEND, and the closest color on your own board • Log it, or add it to a board • White balance locked, so colored light reads consistently instead of drifting Honest about what it is: it reads reflected light in a room, not the fixture itself. Useful for matching what you are seeing, not for calibrating a rig. SET CARDS A shareable image of the night — the color arc, time spent in each, the date and the venue. Post and Story sizes. THE REFERENCE The part that is useful before you ever log a set. • The additive color wheel: PUNCH, BLEND, SPREAD, saturated and pastel • Pair checker — any two colors, one verdict • Moments — the arc of a night, from doors to close • Cheat Sheet — one page, share it or print it for the booth • Learn — twelve sourced articles including strobe safety, a glossary, and a ten-card Booth Check PRIVACY No accounts. No analytics. No tracking. No network calls at all. The camera reads color on the device and records nothing. Photos come through the system picker, so the app never asks for your library. Everything you log stays on your phone. Which also means: back up your phone. Made for stage, club, theater and touring work. iPhone, iOS 18 and up. made with love in bostonRead more
