About
Doorway is a quiet place to check in with yourself. It takes a minute or two a day, and it helps you notice how you're really doing, spot patterns over time, and find support when you want it. Doorway is free, with no ads. It's made by The Open Door Project, a California nonprofit working to prevent teen suicide and make mental health support easier to reach. CHECK IN YOUR WAY - Choose a quick, standard, or deeper check-in each day. A quick one always counts. - Rate your mood, stress, sleep, energy, and connection, and add a note if you want. - Questions adapt to your recent answers, and Doorway always tells you why it asked. - Keep separate notes for anything else on your mind. SEE YOUR PATTERNS - Charts of the past 7 days, 30 days, or 6 months, or pick your own dates. - Compare two things, like sleep and mood, on the same chart. - Tap any day to see exactly what you shared. - Track behaviors that matter to you, and optional recovery counters that never reset your history. SUPPORT FOR HARD MOMENTS - Build a personal safety plan: warning signs, things that help, people to reach out to, and what matters to you. - Short coping tools, like paced breathing and 5-4-3-2-1 grounding. - Well-established screening questionnaires, including the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, with plain-language results. A screening tool is not a diagnosis. - Calm, easy access to crisis lines whenever you need them. FIND CARE - Search for mental health and substance use treatment near you, using public data from SAMHSA's FindTreatment.gov. - Save providers, track who you've contacted, and use a simple script for your first call. - Create an appointment summary to bring to a counselor or doctor. - Trusted resources for anxiety, depression, stress, sleep, grief, recovery, and more. MADE TO FIT YOUR LIFE - Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets: a daily moment, a chart of your check-ins, or your safety plan. - English and Spanish. - Light, dark, or Open Door brand colors. - Gentle reminders at the time you choose, worded so they never mention mental health. PRIVATE BY DESIGN - We don't sell your information or use it for ads. - App Lock with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. - Quick exit hides Doorway behind a plain screen, and you can use a neutral app icon. - Analytics and crash reports are off unless you turn them on. - Export or delete your data anytime, right in the app. - Doorway never contacts anyone on your behalf. Doorway is for people 13 and older. It is a self-reflection tool, not medical care, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. It is not monitored and is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For free, confidential support 24/7, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
