NOTICE — POSTED ON THE LIMEBURNER'S BENCH. READ BEFORE THE DUSK DRAW. SIX STATIONS, ONE RAIL. Two deduction boards, two reckoners, one ledger keeping your results. Work in landscape. DRAW FLOOR — DUTIES. Shift graded quicklime to the far post, one lump at a time. Tap a post to lift its top lump, tap another to set it down. Never rest a bigger lump on a smaller one. Mind the allowance. Sixty-four charges climb from three lumps on three posts to thirteen on four. Expect a sealed post refusing the largest lump, and a crusted lump costing two moves. WHARF CUT — DUTIES. Cross the gang and its loads in the two-berth boat. Tap someone aboard, tap ROW to cross. Somebody must row, certain pairs are never left alone on a bank, and later a rower carries one load. Fifty-eight crossings grow from four to ten in the party. THE BENCHES. Burn Ledger: charge, purity, calcination into yield, carbon dioxide, fuel. Mortar Bench: wall area, joint depth, mix ratio, lime class into bags, sand, water, cure time.
