Debit: one spoiled plate, its damage plain to read. Credit: the bench notes. Tap a note and the causes it rules out are struck through. Tap the single cause fitting every symptom. Mirrors bend the beam a quarter turn, prisms send it further round, lenses pass it straight. Seventy-two rungs, five by four out to ten by seven. ENTRY 3 — THE DESKS. Set light, stop, plate, filter and draw; the exposure desk returns the time to give. Set stock and working strengths; the chem bench returns stock to draw and salt to weigh.
