About

Hear it before it gets away. You hum something on the way to the kitchen. Normally that costs twenty minutes: find the voicing, click in a kick, wait for the session to open, and by then whatever was exciting about it has gone flat. Here you tap two pads and it's playing. How it plays Pick a key. The seven chords in it land under your fingers, the same seven under each hand, an octave apart. Tap C. Tap Am. Tap F. Nothing up there can sound wrong, so you stop auditioning chords in your head and start hearing them out loud, which is the only way anyone has ever known whether a progression is any good. Hold a chord and it sustains, so your other hand is free to go looking. Hand it to the arp and it moves on its own. The drums are loaded the second the app opens, so you're writing against a groove from the first tap instead of programming one and hoping you still care by the time it's done. What you get out of it: more finished ideas, and better ones. The chords you'd never have reached for are sitting right there next to the three you always use. Nothing is out of key, so you can play it in front of people without rehearsing it first. It isn't a DAW. No timeline, no mixdown, no export. It's what you grab in the twenty minutes before an idea evaporates, and it's very good at that. What's free Not a trial. Three instruments, major and minor keys, the full drum machine, one saved preset, no ads, no countdown. Write real songs on it. Chordio Pro One payment. No subscription. Loop mode: chain up to sixteen blocks and let the progression play itself while you work on top of it. Chord editing: any chord under any pad. Borrow from the parallel minor, stack a ninth, leave the key on purpose. Your own sounds: record anything through the mic and play chords with it. Your own synth: shape a voice from scratch and keep it with the preset. The rest of it: all six instruments, dorian and mixolydian, every arp down to 1/32, swung and half-time grooves, and as many presets as you have songs.Read more
