About

WindRide tells you what the weather will be where you are going to be, at the time you will get there. Import a route, set your start time and average speed, and WindRide builds a forecast for every ten minutes of riding: temperature, feels-like, rain chance, wind, gusts, humidity, cloud and UV — each one calculated for the place you will have reached by then, not for a city centre you are nowhere near. WIND, MEASURED AGAINST YOUR HEADING Wind speed alone does not tell a cyclist much. WindRide splits the wind into headwind, tailwind and crosswind using the direction the route is pointing at each moment, so you can see where the hard kilometres are before you start. WHICH DIRECTION SHOULD YOU RIDE IT? The same loop is forecast in both directions and compared on wind and rain, with a plain recommendation and a single tap to switch the whole forecast around. WHEN SHOULD YOU LEAVE? Every start hour over the next 48 hours is scored on rain, wind, temperature and daylight, so you can find the calmest, driest window at a glance. SEE IT ON THE MAP The route is coloured by wind effect, rain or temperature, with a readable legend and wind arrows along the way. One chart draws any two metrics at once, one from each column of tiles, with every value printed on its point. GET YOUR ROUTES IN WindRide reads GPX, TCX and FIT — so a course exported from a route planner and the .fit file a Garmin or Wahoo bike computer records both open directly. Share a route to WindRide from any app that can send a file, or pick one with the in-app file browser. A sample route is built in, so you can try everything before importing anything. WHAT IT COSTS WindRide is free: importing routes and the full point-by-point forecast have no limit and no counter. The two planning screens — best time to start, and which direction to ride — are part of a yearly subscription, with the first month free. Cancel any time; the forecast keeps working either way. PRIVACY No account. No advertising. No tracking. No analytics. Your routes stay on your device. Forecasts come from Apple Weather. Metric or imperial throughout.
