Hybrid Editor

Hybrid is the Markdown editor for everyone who makes text with AI and with people: PR and communications, marketing, agencies, newsrooms, journalism, consulting and AI professionals. It answers the question writing with AI raises all the time: who actually wrote this? Every passage carries its provenance: typed by you, marked by you as AI text, attributed to a source, or written by a co-author – invisible in the file, visible at a glance. WHO IT IS FOR • PR, communications and marketing: press releases and campaign copy where you always keep track of what came from a human and what from the AI. • Agencies: work on the text together with clients – in real time, without sending files back and forth. • Newsrooms and journalism: name sources, declare AI shares, compare drafts – transparency in your own text. • Consultants: write reports and concepts as a team, with version history and export to Word and PDF. • AI professionals: compare the answers of several models side by side and hand the text to ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity with one tap. PROVENANCE • Whatever you type counts as yours, automatically. • Mark AI text yourself with one tap: underlined in violet, labelled – the sidebar shows the AI share. Hybrid does not detect AI text automatically; the mark is for your own overview. • Sources get a name and a colour ("Wikipedia", "Interview with Miller") and appear as a small tag behind the paragraph. • The tags are not characters in the text: the saved Markdown stays clean, and no export carries them. REAL-TIME COLLABORATION • Invite people via iCloud – from your contacts, by Mail, Messages or link. • Everyone types in the same text; changes appear within seconds, and you see who is writing right now. • The document stays in your iCloud, and only there. Guests get a live view, not a file: no copying, no export. • Every sentence keeps its author's name for good. End the collaboration, and everyone loses access at once. COMPARE TWO AI ANSWERS • The same question to two tools, both answers side by side – Hybrid highlights where they really differ, and keeps up as you edit. WRITING AND PREVIEW • Markdown with syntax colours, an outline in the sidebar, Apple's Writing Tools. • Live preview – beside your text on the iPad, a tap away on the iPhone – headings, tables and images as in the finished document. • Images from Photos or by drag and drop: resized automatically, saved as JPG or WebP next to the document. CSV and Excel files become Markdown tables. SHARE, ONLINE PUBLISHING AND EXPORT • For online publishing: formatted HTML with embedded images, ready for WordPress and other CMS. • Export as PDF and Word, as clean Markdown without metadata, or as HTML with the provenance visible in colour. • One tap hands the text to ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or a tool of your choice. VERSION HISTORY • Drafts are saved automatically as you write and can be restored at any time. • The history lives in your iCloud account, not in the file: files you pass on contain no old drafts. FACE ID LOCK • One tap locks Hybrid, automatically after inactivity too. Face ID or Touch ID opens it again – right where you left off. ALSO • Plain .md files any other editor can open. HYBRID PRO Hybrid is free for 7 days. After that it needs the Hybrid Pro subscription (monthly or yearly, price shown in the App Store). Without it, Hybrid remains a reader for your documents: open and read, yes; edit and export, no. Guests in a collaboration write for free. The subscription renews automatically and can be cancelled at any time in your Apple Account settings. Requirements: iOS 16 / iPadOS 16 or later. An iCloud account for collaboration.
