About

How does your baby see the world right now? You look into those eyes and wonder what is going on behind them. Find out live, through your own camera: how a baby of that age sees, week by week, right through the first year. With the citation for every single number. No other app does that. BABY VISION, MONTH BY MONTH Move the age slider and watch it change: • How a newborn sees, in the first days • Baby eyesight at 1 month • Baby vision at 2 months • Baby vision at 3 months • …week by week, all the way to 12 months The detail, the contrast and the colour differences the research says a baby of that age can resolve. Not one figure without its source. AND WHAT THEY HEAR From about 19 weeks of pregnancy — including the part that gets everyone: how a mother's own voice reaches her baby before birth, about 8.4 dB louder than another woman's voice, because part of it reaches the womb through the mother's own body. What babies hear in the womb, and how that changes at birth. WHAT IS INSIDE • Live camera with a slider across the whole first year • Fetal and newborn hearing • Apply an age profile to a photo of your own • Play ideas for every stage, free at every age • Milestones as ranges from named studies • A room sound-level reading • The full bibliography, inside the app • Corrected age for preterm babies WHY THIS ONE Every number carries its citation, and you can read it without leaving the app. And it carries something you will not find anywhere else: the uncertainty. The published 95 % range for infant acuity is about a factor of four wide at every age — wider than the change between any two adjacent months. Almost every app and article gives a single number and never mentions it. "Newborns see only black and white" and "babies see 8 to 12 inches" are the two things everyone repeats about this. Both are cruder than the literature, and you will see why. WHAT IT IS NOT This is not a vision or hearing test. If anything worries you, speak to your paediatrician or a paediatric eye doctor. The app never measures, scores or assesses your baby — it describes what published research says about babies in general. This is a perceptual approximation, not a reconstruction of what your baby sees. Real babies vary a great deal from one another. Nobody can produce such a reconstruction, and the limits are stated: a screen cannot reach the light levels involved, and depth perception from two eyes cannot be shown on a flat screen at all — so the app explains that one instead of drawing it. PRIVACY No account. No server. Nothing uploaded. Camera frames and audio are processed on your phone and never leave it. The birth date is optional, lives only on your device, and a visible button in Settings deletes it. For mothers, fathers, grandparents, midwives and any adult curious about how a baby sees and hears through the first year.Read more
