About

CHANGES SINCE THE LAST REVIEW (build 13) - 5.1.1(i) / 5.1.2(i): The AI features (garden-spirit chat, photo check-up, plant ID, plant and nursery look-ups) use Claude by Anthropic. Before one sends anything, the app shows "Your garden spirit uses AI": what is sent, to whom, what is never sent, Allow / Not now. Nothing is sent before Allow; Not now leaves the rest of the app working. Account > AI features turns it off or on. A screen recording is attached to our reply. 1. SETTING UP AND REACHING THE MAIN FEATURES a) TO SEE THE WHOLE APP - demo account with complimentary access: Email: playreview@gardenbooks.app Password: TYPE-THE-PASSWORD-HERE Populated garden, every feature reachable at once. Because access is already granted it does NOT show the purchase screen - use (b) for the purchases. On a fresh install the app opens as a guest: tap "Already subscribed? Sign in" at the foot of the subscription screen, then Log In. b) TO SEE THE IN-APP PURCHASES: Just open the app. No account or sign-in is needed. The subscription screen appears immediately and IS the whole screen; an active subscription is required, so there is no browsing step to get past. It shows both plans at prices supplied by the App Store, a Restore Purchases control, the auto-renewal disclosure, and links to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. It also carries "Already subscribed? Sign in", Delete account and Contact support. The two consumable credit packs are for existing subscribers, reached inside the app from the account button, under "Support & account" > "More prompts". c) Photo check-ups: open any plant, choose the check-up option, select a photo. 2. DEVICES AND OS TESTED Two physical iPhone 17 Pro Max handsets (iPhone18,2) on iOS 26.6. 3. WHAT THE APP DOES, AND FOR WHOM A plant-care app for home gardeners; no prior knowledge assumed. Each plant gets a live 0-100 health score calculated from the care the user logs and their local weather, including rainfall measured against five years of normals for their area. It also includes a conversational garden assistant, photo check-ups for pests and disease, and plant identification by photo. 4. PAYMENTS All purchases use StoreKit via RevenueCat. There is no other payment path and no link to any external purchase mechanism. 5. EXTERNAL SERVICES USED Supabase (accounts, authentication, data) · RevenueCat (validates App Store purchases) · Anthropic (AI assistant, photo check-ups, plant ID) · Open-Meteo (weather and historical rainfall) · OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (typed town to coordinates, and the garden centre directory) · Resend (email) · Cloudflare. 6. REGIONAL DIFFERENCES None. Features and content are identical in every region; weather is local and prices come from the App Store in local currency. 7. REGULATED INDUSTRY / THIRD-PARTY MATERIAL Not a regulated industry, and no professional, medical or financial advice. AI output is presented as informational: plant ID warns that a photo is never sufficient to decide a plant is safe to eat or touch, and treatment guidance directs the user to the manufacturer's label. Plant and care data is our own; garden centre locations come from OpenStreetMap under its open licence. PERMISSIONS Camera/photo library and microphone are requested only when the user attaches a photo or dictates. Notifications only on opt-in. LOCATION IS NEVER REQUESTED - users type a town or postcode for weather. No tracking (ATT not applicable). Data reaches Anthropic only after the AI permission. USER CONTENT The only shared surface is a directory of garden centres - places, not people. Each listing has a report control; reports go to our moderation queue and listings that break our rules are removed. No profiles, feed, comments, user discovery or messaging. An optional quiz is invite-code only; just a display name and score are shared.Read more
