About
Feeling bullied by your to-do list? Bead is the to-do list that doesn't nag. No notifications. Ever. No badge, no banner, no buzz at seven in the morning. It reminds you when you look, not when it wants. HOW IT WORKS Bead opens on Today. Beneath it sit the quieter lanes: Today - what today is for, in electric blue. Waiting - what you didn't get to. Muted amber, sitting below Today, still here when you're ready. No red, no exclamation marks, no counting how late you are. Soon - the next seven days, faint. Later - everything further out, and everything with no date at all. Collapsed until you want it. Nothing moves because a timer fired. A lane is simply where a task sits today; tomorrow the answer is different and the list quietly redraws itself. THE GESTURES Swipe a task right to finish it - a small tick draws itself and the row comes off the thread. Swipe left to move it to tomorrow. Or park a finger on a row: a green fill sweeps across, and at the far edge the task completes. Same finish, no swipe. Every one of those gets a few seconds of Undo before it settles. Tap a task to open it: title, note, list, date, an optional time, and how it repeats. REPEATS THAT DON'T PILE UP Once. Every day. Weekdays. Every week. Every few days. Monthly on a date you choose. A repeating task spawns the next one only when you finish it or tap Skip this one. Go away for a fortnight and you don't come home to fourteen copies of the same chore. Skipping is a neutral act, not a failure, and it's deliberately silent. LISTS Two lists are included; Bead Pro raises that to ten. Switch between them from the top bar, or open All lists to see everything at once. Rename a list whenever you want. Delete one and its tasks move rather than vanish. Quick add puts something on the thread in a couple of taps. QUIET BY DESIGN One dark theme, edge to edge. Near-black is the point. Seven accent packs: Electric, Violet, Teal, Moss, Orchid, Frost and Cornflower. Electric is included; the other six come with Bead Pro, and a tap on one wears it for five seconds, once a day each. They re-colour the accents only; the dark ground never changes. One small sound when a task is done: Bead, Chime, Pop, Pluck, Glass, Clay, or Silent. Bead and Silent are included; the others come with Bead Pro, and a tap on one plays it, once a day each. Nothing else in the app ever makes a noise, and the cue lays over your music instead of stopping it. No streaks. No badges. No score. Nothing to keep up. NOTES, PHOTOS AND FILES A task can carry a note, and up to eight photos or documents you pick yourself. Bead keeps a copy in its own storage; the original stays where it was, and removing an attachment deletes only Bead's copy. ON THE TV Cast the board to a Chromecast or a Google TV on your own network and the day goes up on the wall in big type, in your own accent colour. The TV only displays; the phone stays the only authority. Titles only, so notes and attachments are never sent to the TV. YOUR LISTS STAY YOURS No ads. No accounts. No subscriptions. Your lists live on this device and travel in the device's own backup. Bead uses the network for the App Store's billing for the one-time purchase, and for casting to your TV if you use it. Feeling bullied by your to-do list?
Bead is the to-do list that doesn't nag.
No notifications. Ever. No badge, no banner, no buzz at seven in the morning. It reminds you when you look, not when it wants.
HOW IT WORKS
Bead opens on Today. Beneath it sit the quieter lanes:
Today - what today is for, in electric blue.
THE GESTURES
Swipe a task right to finish it - a small tick draws itself and the row comes off the thread.
REPEATS THAT DON'T PILE UP
Once. Every day. Weekdays. Every week. Every few days. Monthly on a date you choose.
A repeating task spawns the next one only when you finish it or tap Skip this one. Go away for a fortnight and you don't come home to fourteen copies of the same chore. Skipping is a neutral act, not a failure, and it's deliberately silent.
LISTS
Two lists are included; Bead Pro raises that to ten. Switch between them from the top bar, or open All lists to see everything at once. Rename a list whenever you want. Delete one and its tasks move rather than vanish. Quick add puts something on the thread in a couple of taps.
QUIET BY DESIGN
One dark theme, edge to edge.

No streaks. No badges. No score. Nothing to keep up.
NOTES, PHOTOS AND FILES
A task can carry a note, and up to eight photos or documents you pick yourself. Bead keeps a copy in its own storage; the original stays where it was, and removing an attachment deletes only Bead's copy.
ON THE TV
Cast the board to a Chromecast or a Google TV on your own network and the day goes up on the wall in big type, in your own accent colour. The TV only displays; the phone stays the only authority. Titles only, so notes and attachments are never sent to the TV.
