Corebox: Geology Core

The light is going at the splitter shed and run 2 came up short again. Somewhere between the barrel and the tray rack, twelve centimetres of hole have gone missing — and whoever logs the night shift inherits the question. Corebox is a custody workbook for drill core. Record each run against its planned interval, each box against its shelf, each piece against its downhole depths and recovery. A deterministic integrity pass then walks the recorded coverage and shows exactly where the record disagrees with itself: unaccounted intervals, overlapping depths, pieces stored out of downhole order, pieces outside the run envelope, and sample codes tagged twice. Correct a depth in the piece register and the pass re-runs on the spot — you watch an overlap resolve, or a fresh gap open, the moment you save. Every move, correction, sample station, and invalidation is appended to a journal that never rewrites history; each entry carries a SHA-256 reference to the entry before it. Photo plates come in through Apple's system picker and sit beside the record as tappable thumbnails, and the whole case exports as sorted, readable JSON.
