About

Spectralane is a spectroscopy workbench that reads JCAMP-DX and delimited spectra, keeps every transform as an immutable hash-fingerprinted node, and never shows a number it cannot justify. on the canvas: three demonstration IR lanes open the moment the app launches. Overlay or stack them, pinch to zoom the wavenumber axis, drag to pan once zoomed, and scrub a full-resolution cursor whose exact X, Y, and source index appear in the inspector. Region observations ride the trace, and accepted peaks are drawn in place with their positions. in the engine: the JCAMP-DX reader handles AFFN and ASDF compressed data (SQZ, DIF, DUP) with consistency diagnostics. Transforms cover crop, four normalization methods, piecewise-linear baseline subtraction, Savitzky-Golay smoothing and derivatives from a genuine least-squares fit, and grid resampling that never extrapolates. Prominence-based peak candidates are yours to accept or reject; comparing two lanes reports RMSE, cosine similarity, and spectral angle over the shared domain, labelled as similarity, not identification. on the record: source bytes are SHA-256 fingerprinted at import, every node's output is hashed again, and CSV, JSON, or PDF exports can be checked value by value. The recipe ribbon shows the lineage of the trace in front of you, and undo returns the exact parent node. Your spectra never leave the device: no account, no analytics, no advertising, no network use anywhere in the app. The demo notebook is deterministic and removable - delete its lanes or reset it from the tools menu. Spectralane organizes and computes; it does not identify substances and does not replace validated laboratory procedure.Read more
