About
Hard No Pick an app, pick how long, hold a button for a second — and it's locked. Nothing in the app can cancel, pause, shorten, or unlock it early. Not you, not a force-quit, not a restart. Willpower runs out exactly when you need it: the moment your thumb is already reaching for the app. Every screen-time tool that lets you pause, extend, or "just five more minutes" a block is really offering you a way to renegotiate with yourself later, when you're the least trustworthy party in the negotiation. Hard No's bet is that a block you can talk your way out of isn't a block. HOW IT WORKS Open the app, pick the app(s) you want gone, pick a duration, hold to commit, get on with your day. No dashboard, no accounts, no tour to sit through. A DURATION YOU PICK, THEN CAN'T UN-PICK 30 minutes, 1 hour, until midnight, until morning, until next week, or anything custom from 15 minutes to 30 days. The exact unblock time is always shown before you confirm, so the commitment never has a surprise attached to it. NO WAY OUT, ON PURPOSE Once a session is running, there is no cancel, pause, stop, or "just this once" anywhere in the app. Hard No is upfront about the one real loophole — pulling its permission in iOS Settings — without explaining how to do it, and it won't pretend nothing happened if you use it. THE RUNAWAY CHALLENGE Tap "Try to unblock" and meet a button that dodges your thumb every time you reach for it. It isn't just hard to tap — it's structurally incapable of unlocking anything — and it heckles you while you fail. HARDCORE MODE For anyone who knows that watching the countdown makes the wait worse. An opt-in toggle that hides the exact release time, the countdown, and even how many apps are blocked. It only ever hides information — it can't shorten or lengthen a session, and it locks itself the moment a session starts. SEVERAL BLOCKS AT ONCE Blocks stack. Instagram until tonight and TikTok until next week can run side by side, each with its own row and release time. FUNNY, NOT PREACHY Every moment — starting a block, sitting inside one, finishing, or trying to cheat — gets a short, playful line instead of a lecture. NOTHING TO TRACK, NOTHING TO GAME No scores, streaks, badges, or usage charts. Nothing rewards blocking more, longer, or more often — the only goal is the one you set when you started the timer. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account, no sign-up, no backend, no cloud sync. Which apps you've blocked, for how long, and your settings never leave your phone. FREE VS. PRO Free blocks one app per session. Pro blocks several apps in the same session — that's the entire difference. Durations, Hardcore Mode, and the Runaway Challenge are all free. Pro is $1.99/month or $12.99/year. Hard No
Pick an app, pick how long, hold a button for a second — and it's locked.
HOW IT WORKS
Open the app, pick the app(s) you want gone, pick a duration, hold to commit, get on with your day. No dashboard, no accounts, no tour to sit through.
A DURATION YOU PICK, THEN CAN'T UN-PICK
30 minutes, 1 hour, until midnight, until morning, until next week, or anything custom from 15 minutes to 30 days. The exact unblock time is always shown before you confirm, so the commitment never has a surprise attached to it.
NO WAY OUT, ON PURPOSE
Once a session is running, there is no cancel, pause, stop, or "just this once" anywhere in the app. Hard No is upfront about the one real loophole — pulling its permission in iOS Settings — without explaining how to do it, and it won't pretend nothing happened if you use it.
THE RUNAWAY CHALLENGE
Tap "Try to unblock" and meet a button that dodges your thumb every time you reach for it. It isn't just hard to tap — it's structurally incapable of unlocking anything — and it heckles you while you fail.
HARDCORE MODE
For anyone who knows that watching the countdown makes the wait worse. An opt-in toggle that hides the exact release time, the countdown, and even how many apps are blocked. It only ever hides information — it can't shorten or lengthen a session, and it locks itself the moment a session starts.
SEVERAL BLOCKS AT ONCE
Blocks stack. Instagram until tonight and TikTok until next week can run side by side, each with its own row and release time.
FUNNY, NOT PREACHY
Every moment — starting a block, sitting inside one, finishing, or trying to cheat — gets a short, playful line instead of a lecture.
NOTHING TO TRACK, NOTHING TO GAME
No scores, streaks, badges, or usage charts. Nothing rewards blocking more, longer, or more often — the only goal is the one you set when you started the timer.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
No account, no sign-up, no backend, no cloud sync. Which apps you've blocked, for how long, and your settings never leave your phone.
FREE VS. PRO
Free blocks one app per session. Pro blocks several apps in the same session — that's the entire difference. Durations, Hardcore Mode, and the Runaway Challenge are all free. Pro is $1.99/month or $12.99/year.
