Replacement Tracker: Swapstead

The toothbrush, the kitchen sponge, the furnace filter, the pitcher cartridge: they all wear out on a schedule. Swapstead counts the days and tells you when each is due. Open the Today screen and see what's overdue, what's due soon and what's on track. One morning notification a day tells you what needs swapping. That's it. What Swapstead keeps track of Anything you replace on a regular interval, from two weeks to a year: • Toothbrushes and electric brush heads • Kitchen sponges, dish brushes and toilet brushes • HVAC and furnace filters • Water filter cartridges for the fridge, pitcher or faucet • Razor blades • Mascara and other cosmetics • Contact lens cases • Loofahs, towels and bath mats • Shower curtain liners • Pillows • Anything else, added as a custom item How it works 1. Add an item and choose how often it should be replaced, anywhere from two weeks to a year. 2. Each item shows a ring with the days left, or the days it's overdue. 3. When you swap it out, tap Replaced today. The countdown starts again and the swap is logged in the item's history. Why it stays out of your way • One calm notification a day. Everything that's due is bundled into a single morning digest, so there's no stream of alerts. • Overdue, due soon and on track, sorted for you on the Today screen, where Kip the koala keeps you company. • Every interval is yours to set, per item. A filter in a house with pets can run on a shorter cycle than one in a quiet apartment. • A history for each item, so you can see when it was last replaced. Spares and the Shopping list Keep a count of the spares you have on hand for each item. When you're down to your last one, the item goes onto the built-in Shopping list on its own, so you can buy the next pack before you need it. The list can be shared with whoever is heading to the store. Widgets, iPad and iCloud • Home Screen widgets show what's due and let you mark an item replaced without opening the app. • On iPad, a sidebar layout puts your items and the Today screen side by side. • iCloud sync keeps everything the same on your iPhone and iPad. Free and Plus Swapstead is free to use, with reminders for up to 5 items. Swapstead Plus, a weekly or annual subscription, removes that limit and adds full replacement history and two extra themes.
