About

Mileful turns the driving you already do into a mileage record you can hand to your accountant. Log a drive yourself, or let Mileful notice you're driving and record it for you. Either way, each trip ends up with the date, route, distance, and purpose a deduction needs. AUTOMATIC TRACKING Once Automatic Tracking is on in Settings, Mileful records your drives in the background. Open the app while you're driving and the trip sits at the top of the Home tab with the time and distance counting up. If Live Activity is turned on too, in Settings under Push Notifications, that same card then stays on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island for the rest of the drive. Tap Stop & save drive when you arrive. OR TYPE IT IN Enter where you started and where you went. Address autocomplete fills in the rest, and Apple Maps figures out the distance by road, the way it would if you asked it for directions. Flip the Round trip switch and the drive back is saved as its own trip, with its own route. BUILT FOR TAX TIME Pick the country you file in for each tax year and Mileful does the math. Rates for the United States, Canada, and Mexico are built in for 2022 through 2026. When the IRS changes a rate partway through the year, as it did in 2022 and again in 2026, each drive uses the rate for its date, and the Mileage Rates screen shows both periods. If you file somewhere else, pick your country and add your own rates. Amounts show in that country's currency. Export a CSV for any month, year, or custom date range, filtered to Business, Personal, or All. CATEGORIZE WITH A SWIPE Swipe a trip right for Business or left for Personal. A shorter swipe also shows a Purpose button, for something more specific like Customer Visit or a purpose you added yourself. The Home tab shows two totals. Claimed is the deduction from the trips you've categorized. Potential is what the uncategorized ones could add, and those trips are listed right below. If a drive Mileful recorded still has no category at 8:00 PM, you get one reminder for the day. You can change that to a notification after each drive, with Business and Personal buttons right on the Lock Screen, or to one reminder a week. IMPORT FROM ANOTHER APP Import Trips reads a CSV with the usual column names, so an export from another mileage app comes in as is. Pick the dates to bring in, then choose what happens to the trips you already have on those days. Keep them adds the file's trips next to yours and leaves the likely duplicates turned off, so they only come in if you turn them on. Replace them deletes yours and puts the file's in their place, after showing you what would be deleted and offering to save a copy first. If a file has dates but no times, Mileful spaces each day's trips out from 9:00 AM, and a row editor lets you fix a line before it's saved. EVERYTHING ELSE More than one vehicle. Your own purposes and your own rates. Parking and tolls on any trip. An interactive map of every recorded route. Light or dark mode in Appearance. English, Spanish, and Russian. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS Trips sync through your own private iCloud, so they're on every iPhone you sign in to and survive a lost or replaced phone. There is no Mileful account and no Mileful server. The app has no analytics and no third-party SDKs. Apart from your iCloud, the only place your locations go is Apple Maps, to look up an address or a route. The only thing that ever reaches us is a bug report you choose to send, and you see it before it goes.Read more
