About
Life in Japan comes with a mailbox full of Japanese. City-office letters, tax notices, utility bills, pension statements, health-insurance renewals, NHK invoices, lease paperwork. All of it important, all of it time-sensitive, all of it in a language you may still be learning. MailMana turns that pile into something you can act on. THREE WAYS IN Scan it with your camera. Upload a photo or PDF you already have. Forward it by email, attachments included. Whichever way it arrives, it lands in the same searchable library. READ IT THREE WAYS Every document comes back in natural English, in romaji, and in the original Japanese. A translation overlay sits directly on your photo, so you can see exactly which line says what. Romaji matters more than it sounds. It is how you finally pronounce the name of your ward office, your landlord, or the company chasing a payment. Most documents are ready in about a minute. For a multi-page PDF, the first page is translated straight away and the rest follow as you open them, so you are never waiting on pages you did not ask for. NEVER MISS A DEADLINE Payment amounts, due dates, appointment times, and required actions are pulled out automatically into a to-do list. Send any of them straight to Apple Calendar or Reminders in a tap. SEARCH IN WHATEVER YOU REMEMBER Search across kanji, romaji, and English at once. Remember only that it was "something about pension"? That finds it. Remember only the kanji on the envelope? That finds it too. TAG IT YOUR WAY Create your own colour-coded tags and file documents however your life actually works: by landlord, by child, by tax year, by the folder your accountant asks for. Filter your library down to one tag in a tap. A LIBRARY THAT SORTS ITSELF Every document is filed automatically as government, utilities, financial, medical, housing, or legal. Pin what matters, archive what does not, and MailMana flags likely duplicates so the same bill never sits in your library twice. YOUR OWN FORWARDING ADDRESS Get a private email address that belongs only to you. Forward any Japanese email to it and the translation appears in your library, with each attachment saved as its own document and its first page translated on arrival. Restrict the address to senders you trust, or regenerate it instantly if it ever leaks. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your documents are stored in Japan and processed in Japan and the European Union, under Japan's APPI. They are encrypted in transit and at rest, and they are never used to train AI models. Delete your account and everything goes with it. No email, no waiting. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS MailMana is a translation aid, not a certified translation service. It is built to tell you what a letter is and what it wants from you. For anything carrying legal, financial, medical, or visa consequences, confirm the details with the issuing office before you act. BUILT FOR Foreign residents and expats, students, engineers, English teachers, spouses, and international families. Anyone handling Japanese paperwork in a second language. START FREE Three pages a month, free, no card required. When you need more: Standard: ¥600/month or ¥6,000/year, 20 pages a month. Pro: ¥1,980/month or ¥19,800/year, 100 pages a month. Annual is ten months for twelve. Need a few extra pages in a heavy month? Subscribers can add 10 for ¥500, one-off, no renewal. Questions?
