About
Learn English words and actually keep them. Vocabula brings each word back right before you'd forget it — and has you say it out loud, not just recognise it. Most vocabulary apps only check that you recognise a word. Vocabula makes you recall it, spell it, use it in a sentence and pronounce it, and it schedules each of those separately — so a word you can recognise but can't yet spell keeps coming back as spelling. WHAT YOU GET, FREE • 5 new words a day and unlimited reviews • All 8 exercise types • Translations in 18 languages • Levels A1 to C2, with a quick placement check to start at the right one • About 700 core words built in, with more downloading as the catalogue grows • Up to 10 words of your own • Study offline — your words and progress live on your phone • No account needed to start, and no ads 8 WAYS TO PRACTISE • Recognition — the meaning at a glance • Spelling — type it from memory • Cloze — fill the gap in a sentence • Sentence building — put the sentence together from a word bank • Listen & build — build what you hear before you see it • Pronunciation — say it and get a score • Shadowing — listen, repeat and rate yourself • Minimal pairs — pick the right word out of look-alikes SPACED REPETITION THAT FITS YOUR DAY Vocabula uses FSRS, a modern spaced-repetition algorithm, and keeps a separate schedule for every word and every exercise. Sessions are short, the app shows only what's due today, and you choose how firmly you want to remember — anywhere from 80% to 98%. New words arrive at a pace that adapts to how you're doing. SAY IT OUT LOUD Hear every word read aloud, slow it down, then say it yourself. Download an optional English voice model (from 75 MB) and your pronunciation is scored entirely on your phone — your voice never leaves it, even offline. Without a model, your phone's built-in speech recognition does the scoring. LEARN ENGLISH THROUGH YOUR OWN LANGUAGE Meanings come in a language you already know: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian or Vietnamese. The app's interface is available in 19 languages. NOT JUST ENGLISH Vocabula isn't only for English: 19 languages come with a free built-in starter deck — Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and more. (Chinese and Japanese skip the spelling, sentence-building and listen-and-build exercises.) YOUR OWN WORDS Preparing for IELTS or TOEFL, reading a book, taking a class? Add your own words or paste a list, and they get the same scheduling and exercises as the built-in deck. Free covers 10 of your own words; Pro removes the limit. STAY ON TRACK A daily goal and a daily quest, a streak with two automatic freezes a month, and 11 achievements. Sign in for weekly leagues, study groups and reminders. VOCABULA PRO A subscription, billed through Google Play: • Up to 50 new words a day • Unlimited words of your own • Cloud sync and backup across your devices • Import and share decks Everything in the free list stays free. PRIVACY No ads and no advertising trackers. With a voice model downloaded, your speech is processed on your phone; without one, Google's speech recognition handles it. Once signed in, you can export all your data or delete your account from inside the app. Vocabula is made by aimdev, a small independent studio in New Zealand. Questions go to a human, not a ticket queue. Privacy Policy: https://www.aimdev.site/products/vocabula/privacy/Read more
