About
Holt is a recorder with a memory. Press one button and record — a meeting, an interview, a note to yourself. Lock the phone; it keeps going. When you stop, the recording is transcribed and indexed, and from then on you can ask for it by meaning: "the disciplinary meeting", "when we agreed the Friday deadline", "the pricing argument" — and get the moment back, with what was said around it and what happened before and after that day. Built for people who record other people, and take that seriously: • Consent is a first-class setting. Each recording carries who knew it was being recorded and where it happened; Holt warns you when a jurisdiction generally needs everyone's agreement. • Retention you set. Keep everything, or delete automatically after a number of days. Pin a single recording to its own rule. • Delete means delete. Audio, transcript, summary and index go together, at once. • Export any time. Every recording, or all of them, as text or JSON — with the consent details at the top. • Summaries that never judge — with a model you connect. Bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, or point Holt at a model running on your own machine, and it extracts agreements, decisions and open questions about the discussion. Recording, transcription and search all work without any model at all. It is built so it cannot store an opinion about a person's mood, honesty or character. • Bring your history. Import recordings and transcripts from any other recorder — Plaud, Boya, Pocket, a TASCAM, a voice-memo app — and search them all in one place. • Multilingual. Conversations that switch language mid-sentence come back in the right alphabet, per line. Processing runs on private infrastructure, not on a third-party AI service. Self-hosted installations keep every step on your own hardware. Holt needs a Holt account (sign in with email, Google or Apple). Ten recordings are free; Holt Lifetime is a single purchase that removes the limit for good — there is no subscription and no per-minute charge.Read more
