The Flag Slice: Flag Quiz Game

Every flag is a recipe. So much red, so much white, a sliver of gold. The Flag Slice shows you the recipe as a pie chart and asks one question: which flag is it? WHAT IS THE FLAG SLICE? The Flag Slice is a daily flag guessing game. Each puzzle is a pie chart of one flag's colors, with the exact percentage printed on every slice. You name the flag. No picture, no outline, just the colors and your knowledge of the world. HOW DO YOU PLAY? • Read the pie. Each slice is one color, sized by how much of the flag it covers. • Search the list and pick your answer. You get three guesses per flag. • Solve ten flags a day: three easy, four medium, three hard. • Come back tomorrow. A new set arrives at midnight UTC, the same ten flags for every player. HOW DOES SCORING WORK? Every flag is worth 3 points, and a perfect day is 30. Wrong guesses cost nothing but a guess. Need help? The clue tells you what kind of place it is and where, and narrows the list to match, for 1 point. The layout hint costs 1 more. Every price is shown before you pay it, so your score always means something. WHICH FLAGS ARE IN THE GAME? More than 2,000 flags: countries, US states, Canadian provinces, Japanese prefectures, German states, capital cities, territories and international organizations. Start with Japan and Brazil. End the day on a province you have never heard of. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FLAG QUIZZES? Most flag quizzes show you the flag. The Flag Slice hides it. You learn what flags are actually made of: that Ukraine is half blue and half yellow, that Chile and Texas are closer than you think. When two flags share the same pie exactly, either answer counts.
