Centient

Centient for Android is the on-site half of Centient, the office software for Australian small businesses. Clock on and off, snap supplier dockets, scan materials onto the job and keep the vehicle log book from the phone in your pocket. When the phone is back on the same Wi-Fi as your computer, it all lands in your books. To use it with your own business you need Centient running on a Mac or Windows computer. No desktop yet? Tap "Try with sample data" and look around a sample plumbing business first. TIME • The week at a glance: start, finish, break and hours for each day, with the week's total and pay. • Clock on with one tap. Clock off and the shift is saved. Stop for lunch and the gap becomes your break. • Hours are logged against the job, so they flow onto the customer's invoice. • No signal on site? Shifts save on the phone and sync when you're back. MATERIALS • Scan a product's barcode and it goes on the job, priced from your supplier catalogues. • No barcode? Take a photo instead. • Change a quantity or remove a line before it's invoiced. DOCKETS AND CONTACTS • Scan a supplier docket with the camera, or pick a PDF from your files. It arrives in Centient as a draft bill, ready to check. • Scan a business card. Centient reads it and adds the contact to your phone and to your books. VEHICLE • Log odometer readings for your log book. • Confirm or reject the trips Centient suggests. YOUR DETAILS AND LEAVE • Keep your own phone, address, bank, TFN and super fund up to date. The desktop gets the change straight away. • See your leave balances. Ask for time off, or to cash out leave. YOUR BOOKS STAY YOURS The phone talks straight to your computer over your own Wi-Fi, on an encrypted connection locked to that computer. Your timesheets, dockets and details aren't stored on Centient's servers. Pairing takes a few seconds: open Centient on your computer, go to Settings → Phone, pick the worker and scan the code.
