I'm a retired Google engineer and an avid angler down in the Florida Keys. And like a lot of us, I'm always chasing an edge, trying to figure out what's actually working so I can catch more fish. For years I kept a fishing log by hand, and it was a grind. After a long, tiring day on the water, I had to remember to write up every catch, then bounce between a handful of (mostly paid) apps to dig up the tide, moon, wind, water temp, and the rest of the day's conditions. If I didn't get to it before midnight, forget it: most of those apps only show today and the forecast, so the conditions were already gone. And after all that work, my log was just a pile of notes.
