How rankings are calculated

Rankings cover titles indexed by IndieTower, not every title worldwide. For each app, we take the largest observed rating count across storefronts, then add those counts across its publisher’s portfolio. This avoids counting country snapshots twice. App Store counts are not worldwide totals.

Google Play installs are the sum of public install-range minimums, not exact downloads or unique users. Apple does not publish installs. Missing figures stay unknown. App/game filters select publishers with matching titles; rankings still use their whole tracked portfolio.

Country comes from an explicit country in the publisher’s public store address. It is not the app’s launch market or an independent verification of headquarters. Unknown means we have no reliable country source. Store accounts remain separate across platforms.
