About
A storm throws your boat onto the reefs of a cursed island in the Pacific. All you have is the journal of Steven Smith, an explorer who came here in 1934 looking for a priceless diamond hidden by a vanished civilisation, and never left. Find the diamond, and get off the island alive. A CLASSIC ADVENTURE, REMADE The Diamond of Cursed Island is a new, fully illustrated remake of Le Diamant de l'Île Maudite, the 1984 Oric adventure by Bertrand d'Armagnac and Frédéric Baille, published by Loriciels. You see the island through your own eyes, and you act by typing orders, or by tapping words, as in the original. TWO PARTS, 49 PLACES - Part one: the island. A beach, a wreck, the jungle, a ruined tower, an explorer's hut, a feverish swamp, a smoking volcano and an old military hangar. - Part two: the underground. A temple with a stone Buddha, a haunted gallery, an ancient well, a gorilla, a sage who has meditated for centuries, and a dragon. - Every place can be seen in four directions: 196 painted views. Some things can only be seen from one place, facing one way. SURVIVE Hunger, thirst, fatigue, fever, injuries and the venom of tarantulas and scorpions add up, as in the original. Watch your FITNESS bar, eat, drink, look after yourself, and don't dawdle: time passes even while you think. YOUR ORDERS, YOUR WAY - Short form, as in 1984: words are recognised and completed from their first three or four letters, unknown words are erased with a beep, and you can chain up to 40 orders with "/". - Long form: whole sentences, such as "pick up the coconut", "throw the club at the spider" or "take the rope and the bucket then go forward". - On touch screens, the arrows move and turn you, and the WORDS list lets you tap a verb and then a noun. A keyboard works too. - About 90 words in each language. AND - The game is saved after every order, with a checkpoint at the start of part two. - Hall of Fame: score out of 100, then fewest moves. - Bach's Toccata in D minor on the title screen, as in the original. - Play in English or French, and switch at any time. No ads, no tracking and no internet connection needed. An unofficial remake by PFJ, with respect and gratitude to the original authors, Bertrand d'Armagnac and Frédéric Baille (Loriciels, 1984).Read more
