DeutschCards is a flashcard deck for learning German vocabulary, built for Italian and English speakers. HOW IT WORKS • One card at a time: the German word on the front; tap to flip and see the meaning, the forms, an example sentence with translation and a ready-made memory hook. Tap again to close it. • Three answers: "I know it" (swipe right), "Don't know" (swipe left) and "A bit" when you recognise the word but are not sure. Twenty cards at a time, no daily limit; if you leave halfway you pick up where you were. • Words you don't know go into review and come back at longer and longer intervals (FSRS spaced-repetition algorithm). A word counts as "memorized" when it would last at least three weeks. • Full review by period: all words in review, today's, last time's, or the last 7 days'. • Listen to the word and the sentence with the German voice of iOS. PRACTICE • A separate tab to train on the words you have already met: multiple choice, pairs, sentences to complete or build, typing. • Two decks for irregular verbs: present tense (du fährst, er nimmt…) and past tenses (er ging, er ist gegangen…). THE DECK • 3,518 words: nouns with article and plural, verbs with their main forms and the present-tense table, adjectives and adverbs. • Levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 assigned by the deck's author. Choose where you start and how far you go (B1 or B2). YOUR PROGRESS • Set your daily goal of new words and see where it takes you: the expected line one, two or three months ahead. • A count of the words you know against the 650 (A1), 1,300 (A2) and 2,400 (B1) milestones, the approximate sizes of the Goethe-Zertifikat word lists. For B2 the 4,000 target is a convention: there is no official list. • Memorized words and words in review day by day, days in a row, day-by-day table. • Export and import your progress as a file. PRIVACY No account, no sign-up, no data collected, no ads. The app never connects to the internet: it works on a plane too. Optional daily reminder as a local notification.
