About

Fekones Arc is the complete glaze chemistry workbench for the studio potter who wants to understand what is inside every recipe before it goes in the kiln. Load a glaze, and the app instantly computes its fired chemistry using the Unity Molecular Formula — translating raw batch weights through every oxide and loss-on-ignition into a clear, comparable analysis that reads the same way no matter whose recipe it started as. Five independent checks give each glaze a plain verdict before you fire a single test tile. Fit tells you whether the glaze will craze or shiver on your clay body, and names the exact oxides pulling expansion up or down. Melt shows the full firing window — the range of cones where the glaze is neither stiff nor runny — and flags when the Run Index spells trouble on a vertical wall. Surface predicts matte, satin, or gloss, and recognises specialist finishes such as magnesia satin, calcium matte, and rutile variegation. Stability checks nine oxide limits against cone-band norms and flags anything outside safe territory. Colour names the fired result — celadon, tenmoku, copper red, cobalt blue, and nineteen more variants — accounting for your atmosphere and the base chemistry surrounding the colorants. When a glaze falls short, the Solver works backward. Pick a goal — cure crazing, improve melt, move to another cone, or swap out a material you no longer stock — and the app builds a corrected recipe using only the materials you have in the studio, keeping the formula as simple as possible. The Kiln Planner turns your load of glazes into a segment-by-segment firing schedule, automatically adding a slow-cool where crystal or rutile glazes need it and a healing hold where pinholes are likely. Track firings live from start to unload, then log your fired test tiles with a photo, record what actually happened, and watch the predictions sharpen as your clay body calibration grows. Fekones Arc works entirely on-device, requires no account, and stores everything locally. Whether you are troubleshooting a stubborn crazer or building a new palette from scratch, every number in the app is there to help you fire with confidence.Read more
