French Civic Exam : Residency

Since 1 January 2026, the civic exam — the examen civique — has been mandatory for a first multi-year French residence permit, the carte de séjour pluriannuelle. 40 questions, 45 minutes, 32 correct answers to pass. This app prepares you for it. WHAT YOU GET • Mock exams under real conditions: 40 questions drawn at random, the 45-minute timer, the 32/40 threshold. • 250 questions covering the whole syllabus. • A written explanation for every answer. Not just right or wrong — why. • A review of your mistakes at the end of each paper. • A record of your results, so you know when you are ready rather than hope it. THE SYLLABUS The principles and values of the Republic. Rights and duties. The institutions and how they work. The history, geography and culture of France. Living in French society. IN FOUR LANGUAGES The questions are asked in French, as they will be on the day. The interface and the explanations are available in French, English, Russian and Arabic, so that language is not one more obstacle while you prepare. OFFLINE, NO ACCOUNT The app works entirely without a connection. No account, no sign-up, no advertising. Your answers and your results stay on your phone: nothing is sent anywhere, to anyone. One-time purchase. No subscription, nothing further to buy. PLEASE NOTE This is an independent study aid. It is not an official service, it is not connected to any government body, and it issues no certificate or document of any kind. Only the exam taken at an approved centre carries official weight.
