About
Eyring measures how your room responds to sound. It plays nothing itself: you play its test sweep through your own speakers, Eyring records it with a calibrated measurement microphone, and recovers the room's impulse response. Everything else follows from that. MEASURE • Export a precise logarithmic sweep, at 48 kHz or 44.1 kHz, and play it on whatever drives your speakers • Record it where you listen; the unknown delay between record and play does not matter • Reverberation time as Tmid, T20 and T30, following ISO 3382 • Every octave band from 63 Hz to 8 kHz, so you see where the room rings, not just how much • The decay curve itself, so you can see what was fitted • Save the takes worth keeping, named after where the mic stood, and open them again later HONEST ABOUT NOISE Every room has a noise floor. Eyring measures it, cuts the decay where it meets it, and leaves out any figure the take cannot support rather than inventing one. If the sweep is missing from a recording, it says so. A READING, NOT JUST A TABLE Curvature, bass ratio, clarity C80 and definition D50, turned into plain sentences by rules taken from ISO 3382-1, Beranek and DIN 18041: how far the take can be trusted, and what shape the room's decay has.
