About
Log what you eat and see how energy, protein, carbs and fat are doing against your targets. No diet talk. Grain is a neutral macro diary: it works the same for building muscle, losing fat or following what your dietitian set. You set the targets; Grain compares, it doesn't suggest or judge. Going over isn't painted red and hitting it isn't green: the bar fills in its colour and the figure says "+12 g". TODAY • The day at a glance: energy and the three macros, each with its bar and what's left. • Your meals of the day with their total alongside: the usual four or your own, with their name and time. • The week strip takes you to another day in one tap. LOG IN A FEW TAPS • "What did you eat?": search over 4,000 generic foods from the CIQUAL and BEDCA tables, inside the app and offline. • Type it the way you'd say it ("two eggs and toast with olive oil") and Grain splits the foods and suggests the grams. You check it before it's logged. • Scan a barcode with the camera: your own foods first, then Open Food Facts. • Recents with the last amount and the brand, favourites with their amount, and a "+" to log them in one tap. • The amount in one row: units × grams of one. "2 × serving", "⅓ × whole recipe" or three 25 g slices, with ¼, ⅓ and ½ shortcuts; what is logged is grams. • Usual servings already set (a latte, a yogurt, a spoon of oil) and quick add with the macros by hand. • Your own foods, with their values per 100 g, and "Correct" when a product doesn't match its pack. RECIPES AND MEALS YOU REPEAT • Recipes with their ingredients and grams, the final cooked weight and how many servings they make; log a serving or a third of the pot. • Save a whole meal (your usual breakfast) and log it in one tap, all of it or leaving something out this time. • Copy or move a meal to another day, repeat it from an earlier day, or add "Yesterday’s" in one tap to a meal still empty today. • "My recipes" and "My foods", with favourites, to edit, duplicate or delete without touching what you already logged. GRAIN PRO: ONE PURCHASE, FOR GOOD The whole daily loop is free, with no caps, recipes and saved meals included. Grain Pro is a one-time purchase, no subscription, shared with your family, that adds: • Reading the nutrition label with the camera or a photo, on the iPhone itself. • History and trends over 7, 30 and 90 days, averaging the days you logged. • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. • Saving each meal to Apple Health. • Colour themes, on top of light and dark. Try it free for 30 days first, once per Apple ID. Nothing is charged: when the month ends, the Pro features close again and what you logged stays yours. PRIVATE No account, no analytics, no ads. Your diary stays on your device and in your own iCloud. From a barcode only the number leaves, to Open Food Facts, unless you choose to send a product to it. Apple Health is write-only and off by default. No streaks, no weight, no "good" or "bad". Sources: ANSES-CIQUAL 2025 (Licence Ouverte Etalab 2.0); AESAN/BEDCA Spanish Food Composition Database v1.0 (2010); Open Food Facts (ODbL). There's also an optional tip jar. It unlocks nothing.Read more
