About
LixorOrbit is an extraction bench for specialty coffee. Set kettle temperature, grind surface, dose, water, pour pattern, and agitation. BrewMatrix, a multivariate nonlinear model, projects TDS and extraction yield before water hits the bed. The projection is a prior, not a lab certificate. When a refractometer disagrees, the correction cabin takes a small local step, mostly on the grind-surface coefficient, and keeps the revised weights on this phone. The next cup starts closer to your grinder, your water, and your hand. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Console — live yield and TDS for the current recipe, with the gold window in view • Bean folio — variety, process, altitude, and roast band as the solubility prior • Parameters — temperature, grind, ratio, agitation, and a pour polyline • Flavor orbit — acidity, sweetness, bitterness, body, finish, and aroma as a live radar • Gold cup chart — TDS against extraction, with earlier journal cups behind the current one • Solute cascade — acids, sugars, melanoidins, and dry distillates that sum back to yield • Correction cabin — enter measured TDS; readings outside a plausible range are refused • Journal — each commit freezes that day’s parameters, orbit, and weights; later nudges do not rewrite history • Pair — compare two sessions and see which landed closer to the gold center The reference recipe, 15 g to 240 g at 93°C with a classic bloom, is fitted near 20% extraction and 1.30% TDS. Leave the window — roughly 18–22% extraction and 1.15–1.45% TDS — and the bench names the branch: sharp and hollow, dry and bitter, thin, muddy, or channeled. For roasters and pour-over people who already use a scale.Read more
