About
Gedup is an alarm clock for heavy sleepers that you cannot swipe away. In the morning a task waits for you, like push-ups, squats or a quick sum. It stays quiet only once you have finished it. HOW A MORNING GOES At night you set the alarm and pick the task it should ask of you tomorrow. In the morning it rings, even when your iPhone is on Silent or a Focus is on. Tap Stop and Gedup opens with your task, and the alarm keeps sounding until it is done. The camera counts along, and the last rep stops the alarm. By then you are up, you have moved, and you are awake. That is the whole point. You can snooze too. How often, and what it costs you, is up to you: a share of your squats, for example. CHALLENGES FOR BODY AND MIND The camera counts five exercises right on your iPhone, without you tapping anything: push-ups, squats, sit-ups, jumping jacks and lunges. If you would rather think than move, you get a task for your head: mental arithmetic, a memory game, a slide puzzle or a color test. Two more work another way. Scan a code you picked beforehand, like a printed one on your bathroom mirror. Or shake your iPhone, which works in the dark too. Pick one task and keep it, or let the app draw a different one every morning. THIRTEEN ALARM TONES Gentle, melodic or classic: a tap plays each tone, so you know what will wake you before you pick it. NOT A SINGLE FRAME LEAVES YOUR IPHONE The camera looks at your movement directly on the device, and every frame is discarded at once. No file is written, nothing is buffered and nothing is uploaded. Gedup has no server for your data, no account and no sign-in. Your alarms, your streak and your mornings live on your iPhone. YOUR STREAK, AND THE WAY OUT Every morning you get up extends your streak, and the strip on the home screen shows you how it really went. If you are ill or hurt, you hold the emergency exit for ten seconds and the alarm is off. That day does not break your streak, it holds it where it is and gets a red mark. Your next finished challenge counts on from there. Only two in a row, or three in one week, cost you the streak. WHAT IT COSTS Three days free, then a monthly or a yearly subscription. The App Store shows you the price for your country before you buy. Cancel any time in your iPhone's Settings under your name → Subscriptions. An alarm you have already set still rings when your subscription has run out, and you can always turn it off. An alarm that stays silent over an unpaid bill would not be an alarm.
