Hearth & Law

Every choice leaves a mark on the land. Keep the commandments and the fields hold, the house stays warm, and a name can outlive you. Walk in sin and the color drains out of the world — until the household line itself is cut off. Hearth & Law is a household simulation. You are given a child at eight years old. You name them. You choose a countenance. Then you live. THE HOOK This is not a high score. Light of the land. Fear of the Lord. A household that can starve — or bury you in peace and still have faces at the table. THE PLAY 52 stories, many paths. Sabbath. A stranger at the gate. A false measure. Wrath. Mercy. A careless vow. Walk a living village: the Chapel, the Well, the Hearth, the Market, the Fields, the Road. Watch a face age from child to patriarch in the years the Lord gives. A holy life can reach great age, even the fourth and fifth generation. Let the light die, and the story ends with a name that is no longer spoken. WHY PEOPLE KEEP A HOUSEHOLD The easy road pays today. The right road pays in your children. You will feel the pull to work the holy day, short the measure, pass the stranger, and tell yourself it is only this once. The land will remember. A small life is still a kingdom. Tend the home. Keep your word. See what remains in the light. “Shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” — Exodus 20:6 No loot boxes. No pay-to-win holiness. No energy timers. Just a house, a law, and the years.
