About

Rocket Race is a turn-based strategy game for two players, set on a launch range on the Space Coast at night. Two rival launch companies race for the same patch of concrete. Fly for Space Cross, with its tall, grid-finned boosters, or Blue Beginnings, with its stout capsule rockets. Each side commands six rockets. Move them across the Range, land on pads to pick up hidden payloads, and use those payloads to outmanoeuvre your rival. Reach the enemy's landing zone for a bonus and a reinforcement. Clear their rockets off the Range to win - and watch your whole fleet launch, then come home. FIFTEEN PAYLOADS - Reentry Strike calls down a blast that scorches a pad and its four neighbours for good. - Flame Trench burns a line straight through anything standing in it. - Suborbital Hop throws an enemy rocket off the Range for three turns. - Deluge washes an enemy's payloads off and keeps them. - Throttle Up, Grid Fin, Space Walk, Transporter, Abort, Hold, Stage Sep, Booster Recovery and more. EVERY SHOT IS YOUR CALL Aim a strike and see every pad it will hit before you fire - including any of your own rockets caught in the blast. Scorched ground burns for the rest of the match, and the Range changes shape as you play. YOU ALWAYS KNOW WHAT HAPPENED When your rival hits you, the game tells you exactly what you lost. You can see how many payloads every rocket carries, but not which ones - so an enemy's hand is yours to guess. TWO WAYS TO PLAY - Range Control: a computer opponent at three levels, Easy to Hard, that plays by the same rules - and sees only what you would in its seat. Works offline. - Online: get matched with an opponent, or play a friend with a private match code. If no one turns up, Range Control steps in. Every piece of art and every sound is made from scratch. No accounts, no ads.Read more
