About
Wake Quest is an alarm clock that makes you get up. Instead of a single button that ends the alarm, it can ask you to finish a short task first: a photo of something specific, a sentence said out loud, a stretch, a quick number puzzle, or one of the small games in the game center. When the task is done, the alarm goes quiet and the morning is added to your report. If you would rather keep a normal clock, that works too. Every alarm is set the same way - a time, a repeat rule and a ringtone - and then you pick how it ends. HOW AN ALARM ENDS Standard. The alarm stops when you tap the screen. This is the usual alarm clock, and it is the default. Task. The alarm stops only after a task is completed, or after the whole list is completed - you choose. Pick Easy, Normal or Strict and the app builds the list for that alarm on its own. The stricter the setting, the longer the list and the harder the tasks. TASK TYPES Camera tasks. The app asks for a photo of something you have to get up to find: your own smile, a running tap, the daylight in a window. Voice tasks ask you to say a phrase, read a sentence or repeat a tongue twister. Movement tasks check for a nod, a shake, a jump or a stretch. Thinking tasks give you a sum, a number to remember, a spot-the-difference grid or a set of steps to put back in order. Game tasks open one of the small games below. Every task is checked automatically, and if it is not finished the app simply asks again. THE GAME CENTER The game center is where the morning tasks come from. It holds jigsaw puzzles in four, nine and outline pieces; a number-merge board; a match-three board; reaction-tap drills; and a set of calm brain warm-ups. Mark a favourite and it will come up more often. Alarms pull from the whole set, so no two mornings run the same. MORNING REPORT Every alarm that ends is written down. The report shows how often you get up straight away, how often you delay the alarm, which task types you finish and which ones you keep failing, and how your wake-up time moves over the weeks. The app reads the same numbers to suggest a mix of tasks that fits you. SETTINGS Ringtone, vibration, theme and the default task mode all live in Settings, together with the default game for alarms that do not name one. The privacy policy and the terms of use are there as well. CAMERA AND MICROPHONE Camera and microphone access is used only while a task that needs it is running. Download Wake Quest, and let the morning start with something to do.Read more
